- Hearing God's Voice
Do you know people like Abraham? People that just KNOW that they have heard the voice of God and are willing to take risks? I know it sounds crazy, but when we repent of our sins and give our lives to Jesus, an inner voice in our being begins to communicate. Our inner being's communication system is reconnected to the creator, and the lines that were once severed because of sin are now reattached. This line of communication has been going on since before you were born. YES, you and God have been communicating since before you were born. But because of sin, the lines of communication were severed, and that voice has become unfamiliar. It's almost as if we are deaf. You might question, "God and I spoke before?" Yes, I can tell you that you andGod have been in communication. Jeremiah 1:5-7I knew you BEFORE I formed you in your mother's womb. BEFORE you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. "O Sovereign Lord," I said,"I can't speak for you! I'm too young!" The LORD replied, "Don't say, 'I'm too young,' for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. God calls this young man his prophet (one who has been given a specific assignment). This young man's name is Jeremiah. Jeremiah was afraid about this assignment and felt unqualified and unsuitable for this task. God gives some important insight that will help us understand some foundational things in distinguishing the voice of God and following His instructions for our lives as we go on in this journey.
- Survey: Why serve?
Colossians 3:23-24- “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the master you are serving is Christ.” Keep this in mind, when we move a chair for a guest, vacuum the church, clean the facility, help with the children’s ministry, serve as an usher, or anyway we serve in the church, we’re doing it as if it were unto God. Our involvement in any capacity will be rewarded by the Lord, not by man. All that we do and all that we give is for the winning of the ONE. Together, you and I INVOLVED can make an eternal difference in the life of another. Our “ABIDE Pathways to Growth” facilitator will be able to give you more details about ways to get INVOLVED and areas needing your help! I am so excited for your consideration to get INVOLVED and join our fantastic team and family here at Scarlet Note. WELCOME ABOARD. You are now INVOLVED!!!
- God Tells Jeremiah I KNEW You
Jeremiah 1:5-7 I knew you BEFORE I formed you in your mother's womb. BEFORE you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. "O Sovereign Lord," I said,"I can't speak for you! I'm too young!" The LORD replied, "Don't say, 'I'm too young,' for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you." Who you are right now, today, existed in God's presence even before you were in your mother's womb. I know this sounds a bit loopy, but you and God knew each other, had fellowship, and had a unique bond in the heavens BEFORE you existed on earth. God tells Jeremiah, "I KNEW YOU, Jeremiah." The word "KNEW" is past tense. It reveals a character of God in that God is all-knowing.To KNOW is to have communion. It is an intimate bond between friends. You were NOT an oops, an accident, a consequence, or the result of a one night stand. God says, "my son, my daughter, I already knew you. I already had communion with you. You and I have already discussed your purpose, and your destiny, even before I placed you in your mother's womb. I assigned you a spouse, children, a career, strengths, weaknesses, gifts, and talents. Then I put all these incredible, unique elements into ONE AMAZING being, and I formed YOU around our conversation. YOU are a conversation of heaven in the flesh here on earth! In the same way, Jesus was special here on earth, and you, too, are special. Romans 8:29 "For God KNEW his people in advance, and he CHOSE them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. My friend! Allow us to be the first to welcome you to the FAMILY. From this moment on, you are now a brother, a sister among many, many children of our Heavenly Father. Congratulations. You have ARRIVED!

- When we come TOGETHER as a people
When we come TOGETHER as a people, God occupies the space. He makes it a dwelling place. MIRACLES can happen. RESTORATION can happen. HEALINGS can happen. ADDICTION can be broken. Evil spirits MUST FLEE ALL because God’s presence repels the things that contrast with his nature! I do NOT take being in the midst of all of YOU lightly when we gather together. There are times that I may be going through a time of hardship, and I do not have it in me or cannot find it within myself to praise. But when I come TOGETHER with this community of my brothers and sisters that I belong to now, and this community is lifting God’s name and praising him on my behalf, this community creates an environment that elicits the presence of God. God shows up because of your praise, and all who are broken receive the benefit! Because I BELONG and form part of this SPIRITUAL TEMPLE, when I go home, God’s presence is still with me. His presence is with me wherever I go, at work, in the car, on vacation, on the phone, shopping, etc. God hears how you speak to your wife or your husband, your friends, your children, and your coworkers. He sees what you look at when you think no one is looking. He knows all the thoughts that race through your mind. God does NOT stay in the church building. God goes wherever I go! Wherever I am, he is there. I can be in constant communication and communion with God, and He with me. Together, we BELONG to something much bigger than a church building, religion, faith, or denomination. We have been carefully placed to form God’s dwelling place. Hebrews 10:25 “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” You and I are FOREVER connected to each other by way of Jesus, regardless of ethnicity, race, and gender. WE are FAMILY. WE are ONE. WE BELONG! John 13:35 “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples”. My friend, brother, and sister, YOU are not alone. YOU now BELONG to a bigger family than anything you could have imagined. You can do very little alone. But together, connected to God through Jesus, you can do anything! Congratulations, you now BELONG!!!
- Belong
In this section, participants will learn about the importance of belonging and being interconnected, as illustrated in John 15:4-5. They will explore the different ways people communicated with God before Jesus and how Jesus' ultimate sacrifice reconnected humanity to the Creator. Participants will also understand how the concept of the church has transcended physical buildings, with God's presence living within the hearts of His followers. The emphasis on the importance of community, supporting each other in times of need, and being forever connected through Jesus will highlight the profound sense of belonging that comes from being part of God's spiritual family.
- The True Vine
John 15:1-11 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." What did Jesus mean? Jesus wasn't calling us to be literal vinedressers, vines, grapes, or branches, but what we find in these verses is a model to help us in our understanding of how things are intended to work as a child of God. This story sums up our lives in relation to His.In this story, what we find is our purpose. The "why we are here" is answered in these verses and even tells you the consequences of not abiding in Him. When you abide in God, you start affecting the lives of others. Isn't this exciting! We need to let the world know that what he's done for you, he also wants to do for all of those around you.

- Survey: What is Devotion?
The word “devotion” means love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for a person, activity, or cause. In this 4th step, “Devotion,” we will cover ways for us to demonstrate our love, loyalty, and enthusiasm to God, His work, and the cause! Acts 2:42-44- “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.” The Church of Acts was the very first church after Jesus’ resurrection and ascension into Heaven. This church had no liturgical (ceremonial) systems in place, no mention of a worship team, or ushers, or any other structure other than these 4 very simple steps: 1) Devotion to the Apostles Teachings During our weekly services, you will hear solid biblical teachings that include the teachings of the Apostles. (You can listen to a library of teachings online at scarletnote.org and on our podcast). We also provide seasonal ministries for men and women to help continue your path to growth, a comprehensive children's ministry, and a developing teen and young adult ministry as well. 2) Devotion to Fellowship Fellowship is fostered by way of our seasonal small groups. You’ll have many opportunities to meet and connect with wonderful, great people that are on the same journey to grow closer to God, just like YOU. 3) Devotion to The Lord's Supper Just about once a month, we join together to share in the Lord's supper or Communion, and NO ONE is excluded, regardless of where you are in your walk with God. No one and I mean NO ONE, is excluded from having a seat at our heavenly Father’s table. The DEVOTION to the Lord's Supper of the first church was far more profound than just breaking bread and gathering for services. They would meet daily, weekly, and monthly with each other and have meals together to remember Jesus. We encourage our families here at Scarlet Note to connect with other families outside of these four walls of our church building and have meals TOGETHER and share time TOGETHER remembering Jesus. This time TOGETHER is about opening your home to others, cultivating an environment of hospitality, and growth together. 4) Devotion to Prayer Lastly, we are DEVOTED to prayer. We pray together on Sundays and throughout the week for any of your needs, in-person or submitted online, or in the FREE Scarlet Note app. You can submit your prayer requests at any time during the day or week, and those requests come to me directly. I pray for each of those and respond personally to each submission.
- Survey: Jesus and the Blind Man
John 9:24-25: So for the second time they called in the man who had been blind and told him, “God should get the glory for this, because we know this man Jesus is a sinner.” “I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man replied, “But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see! Without getting into too many of the details because of time…A blind beggar is being asked by many when Jesus saw him and healed him. The religious leaders of that time were furious with Jesus because Jesus had healed the man during the time of the Sabbath, and doing so was forbidden by Jewish law because it was considered working; part of the observance of the Sabbath is that working is prohibited. Healing a blind man was no work for Jesus. It was life as usual. So, Jesus and the blind beggar part ways, and the religious leaders are now interrogating the beggar; “Who healed you and how?” They questioned this man on three separate occasions. And over and over, he ECHOED the same story. He never budged; he never changed his story. His story was simple: I used to be that, and I’m no longer THAT! They wanted to know how Jesus healed him. They wanted to know details about this miracle worker and how he did this. They were adamant about his story. Over and over, he said: “I don’t know how Jesus did it, where Jesus came from, where Jesus is off to next. I don’t know THAT, but I do know THIS: I WAS BLIND, NOW I SEE!” Folks, this is EASY! Your story is a very simple one that can offer the world hope and wonder! We all have a story that we can ECHO. As we come to Jesus, we all used to be someone else and something else. ECHO THAT STORY and never ever stop! The blind man had one story with very little facts, and he never wavered. He stuck to his guns and to what he knew. You DON’T have to be a biblical scholar, a pastor, or have deep knowledge of God or the Bible. It’s even OKAY to say, “I DON’T KNOW THAT.” The story that made you stop in your tracks and say to yourself, “I need a new beginning, I need a fresh start, I can’t continue down this same path, I need a fresh start.” That’s the story. That’s YOUR story. ECHO that! From here on, your facilitator will help you navigate any questions you may have, but I’m so proud of all of your progress and all you’ve accomplished during our time together.
